Establishment of winery
Agidela Winery was founded in 2020 by Lasha Chkuaseli and Eli Tsiskarishvili. Lasha and Eli are winemakers, with many years of experience in this field. Until they left the routine life of Tbilisi and moved to the village Berbuki in order to create their own small production, they worked both in various large wine enterprises and in small wineries. Lasha also has the experience of working in Germany and New Zealand, which played a turning role in the formation of Agidela's approach to wine and the style of working on it. Kartli varieties are distinguished by the potential of producing sparkling and classical wines, that is why Lasha and Eli started producing classical wines from Kartli varieties. Agidela works on such varieties as: Goruli Mtsvane, Tavkveri, Chinuri, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Uniblanc. The winery cooperates with contract winegrowers, which includes involvement in all operations required in the vineyard and focus on quality.
Eli has affluent experience of working in accredited laboratory, that’s why they decided to create their own laboratory in winery, where it is possible to check wine parameters control. Therefore, from grape processing to bottling, during the full cycle, wine quality is controlled, which allows proper planning and management of various technical operations depending on the need of wine.
Since 2020, Agidela has gradually increased production and today its already produces about 12,000 bottles per year, planning thoroughly to grow up step by step. One of the outstanding varieties of Kartli, Goruli Mtsvane, has a larger part of the production, from which a classic white still wine is produced, rich in aromas and tastes of citrus and tropical fruits, with medium acidity minerality. This wine has become Agidela's business card. In 2023, for the first time, the winery started producing Petnat and Sauvignon Blanc, with classical method. Winery purchased plot of land near from enterprise and from 2025 the goals of winemaking include growing one's own vineyard, actively working on the traditional method and adapting it to the varieties of Kartli.
Agidela’s main goal is to focus on the quality of wine and contribute to the development of winemaking in Shida Kartli region.
